About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Logkeeper in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. You will respond to security-related concerns, document activity using computer or tablet tools, and deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication, teamwork, integrity, and a caring, reliable approach.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and community members by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disputes, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Maintain a professional presence in a community-focused environment while communicating respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
