As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements
- 20+ Years of Age
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout public areas, restricted access points, exterior perimeters, and other assigned locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, check credentials and/or access authorizations as required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations.
- Support daily operations by documenting incidents, providing directions and assistance, and communicating with site contacts and public agencies during routine and emergency situations.
