About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sparrows Point, Maryland. The role involves unarmed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, supporting access control and alarm response, and providing professional customer service to employees and visitors. Officers use technology to document observations and follow security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response practices. The schedule is overnight: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. The pay rate is $19.76 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under state or local regulations.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state and/or local laws and regulations before employment, if required.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior areas, parking locations, access points, and perimeter areas; identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notify appropriate personnel, and prepare clear, accurate incident reports.
Maintain a professional presence that helps deter unauthorized access and supports a welcoming environment.
