About The Position

Allied Universal is Hiring Security Officers at Jefferson Hospital in Clairton, PA. This is a Full-Time position with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour. Shifts available are 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with officers scheduled up to 40 hours per week, including weekends. The role involves safeguarding a high-profile healthcare customer, including surveillance of the premises and protection of staff, members, and visitors. The Security Officer detects and prevents suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner. Officers may be required to assist nursing staff with patient restraints (proper training provided) and escort nursing staff to the hospital morgue with deceased patients. Multiple vaccinations are required prior to working on site (company paid), including two-stage Tuberculosis screening, MMR, Varicella, and Tetanus screenings. A child abuse clearance will also be submitted at orientation. Allied Universal officers are paid weekly. Uniforms and equipment are provided at no cost. Requirements

Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations
Be at least 21+ years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
Multiple vaccinations are required prior to working on site (company paid) including: two-stage Tuberculosis screening, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus screenings
Child abuse clearance will be submitted at orientation
Frequent walking/standing required (indoor/outdoor)
Moderate technological usage required
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification

Responsibilities

Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
May also include patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
