About The Position
The Security Officer supports Scripps Health by performing duties that help provide a reasonably safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, medical staff, and property. The role serves as a visible deterrent to criminal activity and actively patrols assigned areas. The officer ensures policies and procedures are carried out, reports non-compliance, and responds to emergencies. When appropriate, the officer guides the safe management of a situation and communicates with leadership as necessary. Work is performed under the direction of security leadership, and the officer’s work style should reflect Scripps Health’s mission, vision, and values. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position with varied shifts at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.
Requirements
- California driver's license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional certification.
- California BSIS Security Guard registration.
Nice To Haves
- POST PC 832 Laws of Arrest.
- One year of experience in security, law enforcement, the military, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
