About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Shippingport, Pennsylvania, at a manufacturing and industrial location. The officer will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain an orderly environment for employees, visitors, and contractors. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, teamwork, integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation. Available shifts are 9:00 PM–5:00 AM, 5:00 AM–1:00 PM, and 1:00 PM–9:00 PM, for up to 24 hours per week, with weekends included in the schedule. Pay is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out access control procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, vehicles, materials, and deliveries according to site requirements.
Maintain accurate access logs, visitor records, contractor documentation, and incident reports using site-provided systems and procedures.
Respond calmly to access concerns, incidents, and critical situations; escalate security-related matters to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, construction areas, parking locations, and the perimeter to identify and report unauthorized activity, hazards, or security-related concerns.
