About The Position

Security Officer (on-call, variable shift position) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high-risk areas. Mobile positions will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys, alarm/nuisance call response, special details and assist in training of clinic personnel. Requirements

  • Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire, Or Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire.
  • Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20 upon hire.
  • Compliance with all state laws and requirements for driving.
  • 1 year experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.

Nice To Haves

  • College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 1 year Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police.
  • Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.
