About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Credential Issuance in Chicago, Illinois, at a retail distribution location. The role provides a designated site and a fixed weekly anchor shift, requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform to increase their hours, with the possibility of building to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The position pays $18.50 per hour and has a listed Saturday shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

The Security Officer provides customer service and carries out site-specific security procedures, including access control, monitoring and recording visitors and contractors, observing vehicle and delivery activity, responding to incidents, and patrolling the facility and its grounds. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel at a retail distribution location.
• Carry out site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Control the entry and exit of vehicles and personnel; observe loading dock and delivery activity; and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution facility, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter.
