About The Position

As a Hospital Security Officer in Hixson, Tennessee, you will safeguard a healthcare customer’s premises and protect staff, members, and visitors. You will monitor the property, detect and prevent suspicious activity, observe and report incidents, and provide friendly, professional customer service. The position pays $16.48 per hour. A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Requirements

• Prior work experience involving customer interaction, troubleshooting, and/or management of stressful situations.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
• Successfully complete the required training and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification after receiving an offer.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.

• Previous security experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or in a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
• Orally and physically de-escalate individuals as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire-control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to facilitate admittance to the facility.
• Respond calmly and urgently to fires, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, and inclement weather.
• Depending on the assignment, escort or watch patients, provide safety escorts, and assist with or transport deceased individuals to the morgue.
