As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and badge access, and help maintain a secure environment for personnel and operations. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and support security-related procedures while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-focused, and integrity-driven values.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct employees, contractors, and deliveries according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized access, unusual conditions, and potential hazards.
  • Prepare accurate reports and logs for visitor activity, incidents, patrols, and other security-related observations.
