About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for perimeter security in Salinas, California. The position provides a fixed weekly schedule at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment to designated anchor shifts. Officers may also claim additional shifts through a scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust hours as needed. The stated schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The pay rate is $20.50 per hour.

The role involves providing customer service while following security procedures and site-specific policies, responding to incidents, patrolling the location and perimeter, monitoring access points and activity, and documenting observations and incidents. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet the applicable minimum age requirement. Background investigations and drug screening are conditions of employment, subject to applicable law.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Be subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Be subject to drug screening as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, identifying and reporting unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitors, vehicles, and activity on the property in accordance with site procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity in clear, timely reports.
