About The Position

The Security Officer works throughout Red Mile property, including all facility floors and locations and the exterior campus as needed. The Security Department’s mission is to ensure the physical security and safety of patrons and employees, safeguard assets, and protect the property. Red Mile Security Officers do not use force to accomplish their mission and do not perform law enforcement duties. The role includes greeting and assisting guests and employees, monitoring the property for safety and fire hazards, patrolling and inspecting buildings and access points, controlling traffic, escorting employees and assets, and reporting unusual behavior or incidents. Officers may provide basic first aid if trained, summon assistance, and follow emergency procedures. The position requires standing for extended periods, walking throughout the property, and occasionally climbing stairs and lifting or moving up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be available to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to a team environment.
Ability to communicate in English.
Ability and willingness to provide friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other team members.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally walk, climb stairs, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, and hear.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability in Spanish.
Training in basic first aid.

Responsibilities

Read, speak, and write clearly.
Stand at a podium for several hours if needed for greeter duty.
Walk the interior and exterior of the property, including climbing stairs.
Direct traffic manually in parking areas.
Operate a golf cart when needed for cart duty; a driver’s license is required to operate a cart.
Operate a motor vehicle when needed; a driver’s license is required to operate a KRM vehicle.
Greet and engage guests in conversation and treat guests and employees professionally.
Observe the property for safety and fire hazards.
Escort employees and assets on the property.
Maintain vigilance and report occurrences and unusual behavior.
Provide general assistance in the event of an injury or incident and summon assistance as needed.
If trained, provide basic first aid and assistance until help arrives.
Recommend and follow emergency procedures in the event of a malfunction, power loss, natural disaster, or other cause.
Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting or denying entry.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and procedures, redirecting trespassers, and securing lost property.
Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; and obtaining signatures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
