Requirements

  • Have at least two years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Monitor entry points and screen individuals and belongings in accordance with established procedures; verify credentials and direct visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate de-escalation techniques and notifying designated personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs related to patrols, incidents, visitor activity, and other security-related matters.
