About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a healthcare location in Newport, Rhode Island. The role involves monitoring and patrolling hospital areas to help provide a secure, welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The officer remains visible to deter incidents, responds to security concerns, and provides customer service and clear communication. The position pays $20.60 per hour and is scheduled Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, public spaces, parking areas, and the facility perimeter.
Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
Communicate professionally with healthcare personnel and emergency responders.
