About The Position

Guardian Service Industries is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Great Neck, New York, for weekend overnight shifts. The role involves providing building security and assisting residents, guests, vendors, and building staff with day-to-day needs. The listed pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Part-time positions may have the option to become full-time based on performance. New hires must successfully pass a background check.

Requirements

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Certificate.
• 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Certificate.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods as required.
• Successfully pass a background check upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in residential security, corporate security, concierge security, or customer-facing security roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact positively with residents, guests, and vendors; assist with day-to-day requests and resolve complaints.
• Communicate with building management and other staff to support smooth daily operations.
• Log and track concierge and building keys used by residents, including for move-ins and move-outs.
• Maintain building safety and security by monitoring security cameras, responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies and concerns, exercising sound judgment, and escalating issues immediately.
• Log and distribute package deliveries and handle deliveries from external vendors.
• Maintain accurate and complete shift logs and provide a proper handover during shift changes.
• Meet additional requirements that may depend on the building and location.
