Requirements

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at a government social services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing individuals to appropriate services or locations, and report unusual conditions to site leadership.
  • Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain communication with supervisors, client representatives, and emergency responders as needed.
