As a Security Officer Access Screening Specialist in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor access points, screen people and property, and support security-related operations through visible presence, routine patrols, and clear communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, packages, and/or property entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and client-directed screening requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns to site leadership as appropriate.
  • Monitor designated screening points, help to deter unauthorized access, and document daily activities, inspections, and/or incident details in required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and the perimeter, noting conditions that may require follow-up or additional security-related attention.
