As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to security-related concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established school protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, classrooms, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; report unauthorized access, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and policy concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
