About The Position

We are looking for a competent Security Officer to staff the front entrance of a downtown Nashville retail location and undertake loss prevention for the store, its staff, and its customers. You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior and provide a high level of customer service to everyone you come in contact with. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the client maintain a safe, welcoming retail environment and protect merchandise from loss.

Requirements

Proven experience as security officer, guard, or retail loss prevention agent
Dallas Law certificate, current and verifiable
Registered as a security officer in Tennessee, or eligible to obtain a Tennessee Unarmed Guard license (FCS will sponsor for the right candidate)
Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
Familiarity with report writing
Excellent surveillance and observation skills
Tech savvy with experience in surveillance systems
Trained in First Aid/BLS and self defense
High School diploma is required
Clean professional appearance, in full FCS uniform on every shift

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional, alert, and welcoming presence at the front entrance throughout the shift
Greet customers on arrival and acknowledge them on departure in line with the client's brand standards
Observe and document suspicious behavior, attempted theft, and return fraud
Conduct receipt and bag checks at exit when post orders require it, applied consistently to every customer
Remove trespassers from the area
Monitor surveillance feeds and entry points for disruptions or unlawful acts
Respond to alarms and emergencies by investigating and assessing the situation
Communicate promptly with the store manager on duty regarding incidents and safety concerns
Secure the entrance at end of operations
Provide assistance to customers and staff in need
Submit daily activity reports, incident detail, and any escalation taken
