As a Security Officer Full Time Access Point Monitoring in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location. You will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, maintain a professional presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. Use computer or tablet systems to document activity and communicate clearly with visitors and team members while reflecting our agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven values.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, deliveries, and contractors in accordance with site requirements.
  • Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related records, including issuing and recovering credentials as directed by site procedures.
  • Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, lobby areas, parking facilities, and the business perimeter to help identify unauthorized activity and support security-related operations.
