Security Officer Full Time Campus Patrol

About The Position

As a full-time unarmed Security Officer at an educational location in Wilmington, North Carolina, you will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus property. You will patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support a welcoming environment, provide customer service, communicate professionally, and document observations using computer or tablet tools. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $15.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Subject to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, campus policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Monitor access points and assist with directing visitors and providing information; report suspicious activity or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with company and site procedures.
