Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Site Protection
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Reston, Virginia. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, maintains a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provides customer service to employees, visitors, and stakeholders. The role supports a welcoming environment and requires professional communication, teamwork, and integrity. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.00 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. State or local licensing may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet state and/or local licensing requirements if applicable before employment.
- Have a valid driver’s license if assigned to a driving position.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, access points, parking areas, and the facility perimeter.
- Monitor access control points and verify visitor and contractor authorization.
- Report unusual conditions or access concerns according to site procedures.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities in required reports.
- Maintain a professional presence, support a welcoming environment, and follow Allied Universal and site-specific reporting requirements.
