About The Position

This position plays an integral role in providing security and safety to all individuals accessing the hospital (staff, patients, clients and visitors). As a multicultural facility, the individuals is maintained. This is a hands-on position requiring people to be able to: handcuff, restrain combative patients, and defuse violent or aggressive situations when they arise.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Candidates must be willing and able to work a 12-hour shift rotation.
• Successful candidates will be required to pass a basic physical test.

Nice To Haves

• Indigenous candidates and those possessing a Saskatchewan Security Guard training certificate will be given preference.

Responsibilities

• Provide general security to the entire facility, including locking and unlocking doors, patrolling the facility and grounds, monitoring security cameras, enforcing parking regulations, issuing parking passes, tickets, lockers and keys, and processing payments/counting cash.
• Providing daily and pre-landing inspections of the heliport.
• Restraining combative patients, perform individual patient watches, assist in locating missing or wandering patients, calling codes during emergencies, and admits/discharges bodies from the morgue.
• Monitors suspicious activities, apprehending and detaining suspects, removing and cataloguing dangerous weapons, and escorting individuals from the property.
• Extensive and comprehensive report writing using a specific application on a cell phone.
