Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government social services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including building entrances, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points, observe and report unusual conditions or behaviors, and assist with visitor direction and access procedures in accordance with site policies.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs related to incidents, patrols, visitor activity, and security-related observations.
