As an Access Control Officer in an educational location, you will help create a welcoming, secure environment by managing access points, verifying credentials, monitoring activity, and assisting students, staff, and visitors. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly, and help address security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first values. This is a driving position requiring a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and manage access to the school location by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor entry records, issuing visitor passes as directed, and communicating entry concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following established procedures.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by observing entry points, monitoring arrivals and departures, and reporting unusual activity or policy violations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned school areas and the perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance, security-related, or access concerns.
