About The Position

We are currently hiring for a part-time Security Officer position in Plattsburgh, NY. This role is at a fixed site with a set weekend schedule, offering consistency and stability. The Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers. Requirements

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify potential security risks.
• Comfort with basic technology, including CCTV systems and reporting tools.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to stay calm and respond appropriately in emergencies.
• Reliable transportation is required due to bus schedules not aligning with shift times.

Nice To Haves

• Previous security experience is a plus, but not required—we’ll train you.
• If you have retail, food service or hospitality industry background you are a great fit for this role; if not, we will provide you with the training and everything you need for a great introduction to a career in the security industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly 20-minute walking patrols to monitor the premises.
• Monitor CCTV and other surveillance equipment for security concerns.
• Report suspicious activity and notify law enforcement when necessary.
• Complete clear and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Respond to resident concerns and maintain a professional presence onsite.
• Work collaboratively with staff and residents to ensure a safe environment.
