As an Access Control Officer at a residential location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide welcoming customer service to residents and visitors. You will use computer or tablet systems to document incidents and communicate clearly with the team. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Possess a guard card or license, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, visitors, and staff while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and security-related policies.
  • Monitor vehicle and pedestrian entry points, verify authorized access, maintain visitor records, and direct guests according to community procedures.
  • Respond to access concerns, resident requests, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, entry gates, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report observed concerns.
  • Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
