About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex to serve and safeguard clients across industries such as healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The role provides hands-on experience across varied sites and may offer opportunities for career advancement. The position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and pays $18.91 per hour. It is described as full-time, with an expected 30–40 hours per week. Work schedules, days, locations, and assignments vary regularly; shifts may be assigned by a manager or picked up through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Officers must be prepared for irregular shifts with little to no advance notice.

Requirements

Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Have reliable transportation.
Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
Be able to travel required distances to work locations.
Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations prior to employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements.
Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
