About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a manufacturing and industrial location in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The officer will help safeguard clients, employees, and visitors by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, supporting a secure and welcoming environment, maintaining a visible presence, conducting patrols, deterring security-related incidents, and providing customer service and communication. The position pays $26.00 per hour and is scheduled for daytime shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or at least 21 for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Carry out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and access-control protocols; perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control access by verifying credentials, authorizations, visitor registrations, and delivery activity according to site requirements.
Operate access-control equipment, maintain accurate visitor and vehicle entry records, and report access discrepancies to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established escalation and communication procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
