Security Officer Armed Mobile Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer Armed Mobile Patrol in Houston, Texas, you will safeguard a government location by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and responding professionally to security concerns. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, dependable support, and adherence to Allied Universal’s values. A valid Texas Level III Armed Certification is required. This is a full-time position paying $18.84 per hour. The posted schedule is Wednesday and Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., and Friday through Sunday, 7:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Employees must participate in industry-specific security training. Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local regulations. A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Requirements
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
- Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
- Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
- Be a certified law enforcement graduate.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.
- Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for visitors, deliveries, employees, and contractors in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and public emergency services when required.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports and maintain activity logs, incident documentation, and daily shift records.
