About The Position

As a Security Officer X Ray Screener in Lexington, Kentucky, you will serve and safeguard clients in an educational setting. You will use screening technology to help identify prohibited items, monitor access points, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves providing attentive customer service, communicating clearly, and maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. The position is full-time and pays $19.00 per hour. The stated schedule is Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations, and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen individuals and their permitted belongings using assigned screening equipment and established campus entry procedures.
• Verify identification, manage access points, and direct visitors to appropriate campus locations in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and critical situations, and promptly report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations as directed.
