As a Screener supporting a government airport development location, you will conduct X-ray screening, verify access credentials, monitor assigned areas, and report suspicious activity. Requirements

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an airport development location.
  • Operate screening equipment and conduct prescribed inspections of persons, property, and/or accessible areas in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Verify access credentials, direct individuals to appropriate entry points, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious items, activity, and/or conditions to designated personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established communication and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned airport development areas and perimeter locations, documenting observations and reporting maintenance, access control, and security-related concerns.
