As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support site access procedures while remaining visible to help discourage security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and/or drivers by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, credential checks, and other security-related policies at a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or delivery documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas, trailers, gates, and loading zones.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other security-related concerns in warehouse, dock, and yard areas.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records related to visitor processing, contractor access, key control, and/or vehicle movement while following Allied Universal standards and site-specific procedures.
