About The Position

As a Security Officer Visitor Management in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points at the location, verify credentials and/or identification, maintain visitor and delivery logs, and report unauthorized access attempts to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, access control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and activities according to post guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, parking areas, and shipping/receiving zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
• Support screening and traffic coordination for personnel, packages, and/or vehicles entering or leaving the location while following established post orders and communication protocols.
