About The Position

As a Security Officer - Utility Route Driver in Sparks, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a utilities location, you will conduct routine vehicle patrols across assigned areas, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will document observations, assist with access points as needed, and represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and an agile, reliable approach.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A guard card/license is preferred.
Access control/badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, treatment areas, pump stations, parking lots, and perimeter lines, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per post orders.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, equipment issues observed on patrol, and unauthorized access attempts.
Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification and work authorization, directing visitors to designated check-in areas, and documenting entries and exits as required.
Complete shift logs and incident reports, communicate key information during shift handoff, and coordinate with site personnel and/or public responders when requested.
