About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an unarmed Data Center Security Officer. The role involves conducting unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols inside and outside the facility, controlling access and egress, monitoring closed-caption televisions and alarm systems, preparing reports, deterring criminal activity and misconduct, and performing other duties specified in post orders. The officer provides customer service, follows safety and security procedures and site-specific policies, responds to emergencies, and supports the data center during inclement weather or infrastructure interruptions. The stated pay rate is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Possess or be able to obtain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• At least two years of physical security experience within the last five years.
• Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Proficiency using technology such as desktop computers and mobile applications to document activities and tasks.
• Ability to prioritize workload based on urgency.
• Ability to analyze high-stress situations quickly and efficiently, communicate events appropriately, and dispatch the proper teams to determine a course of action.

Nice To Haves

• Active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) registration.
• Military or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Handle emergency situations efficiently and provide safety guidance and direction to clients and customers.
• Answer and respond to events and situations received in person, by phone, and/or by radio.
• Accurately document routine and unusual events on or near the facilities through shift reports, pass-down logs, incident reports, or other established methods.
• Provide security support to the data center during inclement weather or other infrastructure interruptions.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols around the business and perimeter.
• Ensure people entering and exiting office space sign in correctly, assign appropriate badges, and apply approved compliance codes.
• Mitigate unwanted intruders and ensure visitors are escorted.
• Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols inside and/or outside the facility, control access and egress, monitor closed-caption televisions and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct, and perform duties specified in post orders.
