As a Security Officer in Sulphur, LA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, issue visitor passes as authorized, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
  • Screen personnel, vehicles, deliveries, and materials in accordance with site procedures and applicable access restrictions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
