Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational and cultural location.
  • Respond to incidents, policy violations, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, classrooms, common areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with directional guidance, and report maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and/or security-related issues according to site procedures.
  • Support a professional environment by interacting respectfully with the public, helping to de-escalate conflicts when appropriate, and following Allied Universal standards and post instructions.
