Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, policy violations, and security-related incidents according to site procedures.
- Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
