Requirements

  • Possess 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds, preferred.
  • Possess a state, county, or city issued security-related license, preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Possess a guard card or license, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access to restricted and patient care areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations.
  • Support Allied Universal protocols by completing assigned reports, maintaining a visible presence, and assisting with directions and general assistance in a professional manner.
