As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Agent in Sterling, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts. The role involves a fixed-shift commitment (Anchor Shifts) for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment. Additionally, employees can pick-up extra shifts through a scheduling platform (Claim-A-Shift Program) to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, allowing for a flexible schedule that can scale up to full-time hours or back as needed. This position is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a dynamic technology and media location.
Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with site contacts and visitors.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, work areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify concerns for follow-up.
Monitor access points, observe site activity, and/or report suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, or policy violations according to post instructions.
Support employees, guests, and/or vendors with directions, entry procedures, and general assistance while documenting incidents and daily activities in required reports.
