As a Security Officer Access Verification Specialist in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. Requirements

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor activity in support of authorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Support front lobby and/or reception operations by assisting with visitor processing, answering general questions, and maintaining professional communication with employees and guests.
