As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and support a secure, welcoming environment for personnel and guests. You will use strong communication and customer service skills while helping to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and delivery access records.
  • Control access to restricted areas, coordinate with site contacts regarding approved visitors and deliveries, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established security-related procedures and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and the perimeter to help identify security-related concerns.
