As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time TWIC Credential Examiner in Norfolk, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have X-ray screening experience, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a cruise terminal or port location.
  • Screen passengers, crew members, visitors, carry-on items, and approved belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures.
  • Observe screening areas for prohibited items, unusual activity, and potential policy violations, and report findings to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, access points, and surrounding perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
