About The Position

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Valid BLS certification.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for long periods without becoming winded or extremely fatigued.
  • Manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination are necessary.
  • Ability to participate in mandatory semi-annual Defensive Tactics Training, which is physically demanding.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively along with paying attention to detail.
  • Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a fireman, policeman, public safety, military, or watchman is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols hospital and grounds to prevent fires, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
  • Transports supply, pharmaceuticals and equipment for events and activities to and from the satellite units or other locations as needed.
  • Perform repetitive duties in making tours of buildings and grounds.
  • Assess and evaluate situations effectively along with paying attention to detail.
