About The Position

As a Security Officer Transitial Shelter in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication and customer service while bringing a caring, reliable approach, working with integrity, and contributing to a team focused on people first.

Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• F02 Fire Guard benificial

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional presence.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, as assigned.
• Monitor access to the location and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to site leadership according to post procedures.
• Complete required reports and document incidents, observations, and/or daily activities in a timely and accurate manner.
