Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas, entrances, common areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report observed concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, maintaining awareness of individuals entering and exiting the location.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
