As a Security Officer - Transit in Salem, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a public transit location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors. Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and transit personnel while carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at public transportation facilities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit centers, passenger areas, parking areas, and facility perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from emergency responders and/or designated personnel when appropriate.
  • Monitor access to restricted government and transit operational areas, document security-related incidents and observations, and report concerns according to established procedures.
