About The Position

As a Security Officer Transit Depot in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by following site-specific procedures and supporting security-related protocols at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, public personnel, and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, concourses, entrances, offices, parking areas, and/or perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, observe passenger and employee activity, and document security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues according to post procedures.
• Assist with crowd management, directional support, and emergency response activities during service disruptions, special events, and/or high-traffic periods.
