About The Position

As a Security Officer - State Office Rover in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet and assist employees and visitors, document observations, and communicate clearly with site contacts and your Allied Universal team. Bring integrity, reliability, and a people-first approach while supporting an agile and innovative operation.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government transportation facilities, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification and/or credentials as required, direct visitors to appropriate locations, and assist with managing vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, disturbances, and/or suspicious activity through the appropriate channels.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and activity reports, and communicate relevant updates to onsite contacts and/or incoming personnel.
